Dear Future Superstar, This is where it all started for me. This song aka #tbt was just a little kid experimenting in his dad studio, not knowing that he would soon have a career in entertainment, number 1 records, a hit tv show and the whole world would soon know him as Lil Romeo lol. But I’m getting off track, I’m writing this letter for you. To let you know that everything that glitters ain’t gold. I have many peers and successful friends that are now sad and depressed due to the price of fame. The younger you reach your goals, (in all honesty) the worse, simply because the world will constantly compare YOU to YOU as if it’s not YOU, as if YOU weren’t the human whom actually broke those records or made that piece of history. The younger you are, the tougher you will have to be. Don’t believe me? Just google the “child star curse” and now imagine your little 10 year old sister/brother leaving your home to travel this beautiful but brutal world to do the same job (promo tours city to city, press conferences, radio, appearances, meet and greets, etc) as many successful adults are doing all while still learning fourth grade math! Let that sit. If a kid ONLY knows successs, how will that kid deal with failure? If you ask me, FAME for a child isn’t human, but a handful are built for it. A lot of those that you laugh at and ridicule are a lot stronger than you think. I know this was a lot to read, but I only wrote these words to let you know if you always chase your dreams for the RIGHT reasons and do your best to WORRY LESS about the world’s opinion of you, then everything will be ok. I’m a living witness. I’ve literally just seen an amazing interview on Denzel about this (that guy gets it) that’s a role model. God has a plan for all of us, you just have to learn to listen to the soul and not the flesh. Not be perfect, but just try YOUR best. I’ve had access to literally EVERYTHING in life, the power of choice is real. The thing that kept me focused was seeing death and knowing that my family came from nothing, so the cons of this life was simply and will always be a blessing in my eyes. Perspective. Good luck Future Super Star! #Inspire
