So today 8/9, is the 21st anniversary of our first ever show as #halestorm @halestormrocks . On the left is a 3rd place trophy from the Schukill County Fair on 8/9/97. I was 13 and little bro was 10. We performed an original song we wrote called “Love Is Power”, with a drum solo in the middle of it! We won third place ( lost to the 8 year old tap dancing cowgirl)( so spinal tap!) Regardless, We named the band that day, and haven’t stopped since! A huge thank you to our parents, our crew, my bandmates, my little brother, our team, and our fans...for believing in a couple kids. All we wanted to do in life is Rock. Thank you all for continuing to make our dreams come true.
P.S. I also think it’s fitting that Today, we are sharing the stage with the future and the foundation... opening up our show tonight is @moriahformica who is an incredible young talent, who sites us as an influence...which is a total honor by the way. And then we have the legendary icon @joanjett Joan Jett, closing the show tonight. Without which, so many of us would’ve given up hope. Thank you Mz Jett, for never giving up...you were and still are the fire blazing a trail for the rest of us to follow. What an amazing night, 3 tiers of iconic, present and future for all of us Vicious Femmes! ....and for all of the ladies who are hesitant, intimidated or told you can’t rock cuz you’re a girl... all three of us are your example that that is just not true... YOU CAN ROCK, and you can be Anything in this world that you want to be.
