It’s crazy and exciting to know that in 3 months, I will be adding a newborn to our family. That this is what our pics will look like. Diapers, strollers, formula, baby feet ?, swaddling & another being to love & care for. Since I will be fostering one child to begin with, (with the hopes of adopting) my goal is to have at least 2 children in one year. Fostering was an easy choice for me after researching and seeing how we / our system fails these kids. Do you know that most of these babies will be born drug dependent? And that pharmaceutical companies use these babies & children with depression from abuse as guinea pigs. Children that were raped could be on 3-5 different medications. And if I, as a foster parent, wanted to care for a child with a disability (and we’re talking anything from a.d.d to depression to anger issues to physical deformities) that I would be paid more to care for them? In a Just world, people who care for these children would be kind and patient. They would help them grow in a nurturing & understanding home. But that’s not the case. These are the children that are bounced around the most when people see they are more work than the higher paycheck they are receiving. These children are not broken appliances to return to the store. They did not ask for this life. They were born into a world that shows them they are not wanted. They are not worthy. That abuse and neglect is the only form of love they know and deserve. My home may not be able to care for as many children as I’d like at the moment but I will raise awareness & be the voice for these children. I will volunteer my time and energy to make a dent in their lives. From bringing gifts for their birthdays to spending one on one time showing them normalcy, & that someone WILL listen. I want to mentor the pre teen / teenage girls and show them that their past and present does NOT dictate their future. I am only one voice but I will scream it so that maybe people out there will also lend some time to make a difference. There are so many ways to help. All you have to do is want to make a change. (Sure did sound like Michael Jackson from - Man in the mirror. Sure not going to apologize)❤️
