Hey guys! Do you wanna do a project with me?? So, I just finished @brenebrown ‘s incredible book, “Daring Greatly” and it has been feeding my soul in the most extraordinary ways. In her book, she talks about practicing GRATITUDE as a way of cultivating joy. We live in a culture that tells us we don’t have enough and that we are not enough. She says “if the opposite of scarcity is enough, then practicing gratitude is how we acknowledge that there’s enough and that we’re enough”. She found in her research, that people who practice gratitude regularly have more joy and live in a more wholehearted way. So, I’m gonna try to put it into practice this week with my family. I just created this “gratitude jar” and I had my kids cut up a bunch of little pieces of construction paper and put them in the other little cup I’m holding. I told them that we would write the things we are grateful for on the slips of paper and put them in the jar and once the jar fills up we could all go out for ice cream. They seem excited about it. I’m gonna see how the week goes and then I will report back to you all next week. I’m looking forward to seeing how and if putting gratitude into practice with my family affects the way we feel and relate to one another. Try it with me, you guys! Grab your family members/ besties/ partners/ kids and do this experiment with me this week.
