Looking for a clue to the coup that is long overdue
A brand new debut of my life’s view
Miscue after miscue
My rendezvous with hope is long overdue

I hide in false pride
Magnified by the great divide of truth and lies
Leaving me mortified, horrified
And preoccupied with thoughts of suicide
Oversimplified, set aside, and nullified, leaving me petrified

I tried to cry, scream to no avail
A veil drapes over my soul
My spirit curtailing my freedom jailing all good
I stood and watched other’s celebrations
Joy became a mutation seeking ovations
Acclamation and adoration for the aggravation of birth

It’s scary when merriment is only an experiment, a variant
Show it respect, exalt and bestow it
Notice, find your motive, your omen
Live moment to moment
Remain stoic even at your lowest
Be open and devoted to that which was stolen

Bask in the creation of elation
Elevate, fight the stagnation
Change locations, vocations
Embrace your agitations with affirmations
You owe no one explanations

A causation of inspiration
A detonation of devotion
Rejoice you have a voice, a choice
Boisterous like a chorus
Powerful refrain from that same game that lied to you
And proclaimed you were worthless

You overcame the sense of shame
You set aflame all that betrayed, all that laid in wait
Made you debate to a stalemate
Left you in a mental state suited only for a straitjacket
And backed it up with jack-shit

Leaving you in fits
Depleted of wits
One must permit to be chopped to bits
Blitzed by the hypocrites that don't quit

Acquit the counterfeiter, take the hits
Admit that life had become unfit
And bit by bit, the divide and the split will mend if you commit
You were never a misfit

Emit joy, commit to a life that befits
Demand it, admit your wrongs
Before long, you’ll see that you belong

That the you that was dead and gone
Is now welcomed by throngs of friends
Whose love has no ends
Where every day is a jubilee
