@westernaustralia’s #LakeClifton has some of the world’s oldest living creatures on show! They’re called #thrombolites, and you can see them scattered underneath the jetty in this stunning #aerial shot by @mkz.imagery. These seemingly ordinary-looking rocks are actually covered with micro-organisms that were among the first creatures on earth to produce oxygen, making all subsequent life possible!
