??...some of my best friends have been shoes...
I remember my first pair of brogues from Lilley and Skinner in 1985 when I was 12 ; Oxfords with patent leather kilties, toes and heels, the rest of the upper was a golden mock croc. I was in heaven!
My real life best friend bought a pair too so to make mine unique, I decided to add home-made green suede tassels to my laces with a staple gun... Over 30 years later and I am still just as excited to have been bought these new brogues/trainers by my other half a couple of days ago...
A new, firm friendship began even before I’d got the second one on!
