I'm sad and disheartened to have to have to bring you this depressing news. ?

Before we started this exhaustive study, we were optimistic that we would find that the majority of American Association of Feline Practitioners (AAFP) CAT FRIENDLY practices wouldn't do such an inhumane and mutilating procedure to cats.
We were so very wrong.
85% of the 156 AAFP CAT FRIENDLY practices in this study declaw cats.
In fact, many of them even suggested declawing to first time cat owners and many even declaw cats on all four paws. ??
I was also sad to find out how the practice where the 2018 President of AAFP works, addresses declawing. You would think that they would be a shining example of how a CAT FRIENDLY practice operates. #not
It's really time that AAFP STOPS allowing this barbaric, inhumane, and harmful procedure in their practices. #enoughisenough
I reached out to @icatcare to ask them when they stopped allowing declawing in their CAT FRIENDLY practices. They said this, "Declawing has never been allowed at our Cat Friendly Clinic’s which cover the whole world apart from America." (ICatCare started the CAT FRIENDLY program in 2012 and AAFP followed in their footsteps.) Please sign the petition in my story and if you are going to @catconworldwide this weekend then please stop by the American Association of Feline Practitioners booth and respectfully ask them when are they going to stop allowing declawing in their CAT FRIENDLY practices like International Cat Care has done from DAY 1.
