Cal was brought up on Wandsworth Saturday league football. When the goals weren’t free, jumpers would do. A brick wall even.

He had to be creative to make it, but even then it was clear he would. He knew exactly what he wanted to do with the ball and how exactly to make it happen.

Create the space, beat the man, smash it in the top bins. First attempt, second attempt, success. Just another practice on Cavendish.

But it’s more than that. Here, his dreams became reality, his idols become teammates.

He’s always been a leader, even more so when the whistle blows, it’s clear to everyone watching.

Always vocal, on and off the pitch, but leadership comes in many forms; showing for the ball when others won’t. Driving the team forward. Putting the work in as much for the team as himself.

He keeps going, keeps pushing his team, keeps creating.

It’s the same in south London as it is with the first team, his national team, against local boys or world-class oppo.

Whether rinsing his man for the tenth time or finding the perfect through ball, Callum Hudson Odoi’s creativity cannot be stopped.
