Children led a sit in at Capitol Hill to protest family separation at the border.
Today is the deadline to reunite 2,551 children who were taken from their families, but the Trump administration says only about 1,600 are "eligible" for reunification.
The government has already deported 463 parents. Based on court filings, huge numbers of these parents claim they were either promised to be re-united with their kid or coerced into signing their own expedited removal papers in hopes of getting kids back. ▪️ 2,551: children separated from their parents. ▪️ 1,012: children who have been reunited. ▪️ 37: children whose parents haven’t been identified. ▪️ 914: parents not "eligible" for reunification. ▪️ 463: parents who may have been deported without their children. - stats via @ajplus & @fwdus - #familiesbelongtogether #endfamilyseparation #thisisabouthumanity
