#Transparent actress Rain Valdez discusses how she went from living the “stealth” life to being an openly transgender woman: “I’m one of the fortunate trans people who have passing privilege. Where I could sort of just live my life as a cisgender person. And we call this term stealth in our community. I was not publicly out when I started my career. I started my career about ten years go. I moved out to LA from Guam in 2000 – But when I got the job at ‘Transparent’ that was the first time I was out and proud as a transgender woman.”
