It's Monday and we could all use a little pick-me-up, so we're excited to share TWO fun things this afternoon, courtesy of @juniperandscout in Los Angeles. The first is a #giveaway! A JAM WALKS INTO A BAR COOKIES
INGREDIENTS:
· ¾ C butter, softened
· ¾ C brown sugar
· 1 C all-purpose flour
· ¾ tsp baking soda
· 1 ¼ C old fashioned oats
· ½ tsp cinnamon
· ¼ tsp salt
· 1 jar SQIRL preserves (Deanna used BLACK & BLUE)
DIRECTIONS:
· Preheat oven to 350 degrees F
· Line an 8” square baking pan with parchment paper
· Mix butter, sugar, flour, baking soda, cinnamon and salt until creamy
· Stir in oats
· Press about half of the mixture into the bottom of the pan
· Spread jam evenly over the mixture, leaving room at the edges
· Sprinkle the remaining oat mixture on top of jam
· Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the top is golden brown.
· Cool completely before cutting into the bars
