Sitting here on this rainy NYC day reflecting on the past week. Really the past 17 days. Holy shit. It happened. 10 days of rehearsal. And then 9 shows in 6 days and it was THRILLING, scary, overwhelming, fulfilling, hilarious and mostly, it was so wonderfully supported. It was unforgettable.
Was it all easy?? Ummmm...let’s just say I may have made a couple (trillion) mistakes along the way. I literally dropped a pie on the stage and it almost bounced into the front row. On Broadway. I screwed up a couple (more than a couple) harmonies. I stood in the wrong places and out of the spotlight. I was totally late on an important entrance. In a scene with @アダム・シャピロ, my mind went blank and I had no idea where I was for a second and Adam saved it until my line came rushing back (thank god). I may have had a tiny (large) panic attack two minutes before our opening performance and kept saying: “I birthed a freaking baby - I can do this! I birthed a freaking baby - I can do this!” Every morning I was so worried my voice wouldn’t be strong enough to do it again. And yet, here I am! Mistakes and all, i learned from them and got better because of them. But only because I’m surrounded by the most supportive, energetic, loving group of people i could ask for. This amazing cast & crew and my family & friends and my on stage/off stage husband @アダム・シャピロ. Thanks for coming along for this ride. Special shout out to Thom, @atfitch, @nadiadigiallonardo, Nancy, @misterroiff, @サラ・バレリス for making this performance happen. And now here we are... 1st Monday off! It happened!!! Adam and I ran for a week on broadway. And loved every second of it. Even the many mistakes. I survived and no one threw tomatoes at me. So today we rest and spend so much time with Albee. And tomorrow, we start all over again. 8 shows this week. Can’t wait. #SugarButterFlour #WaitressMusical
