A few months ago, I shot this video for Skyy. The focus of their campaign is being #ProudlyAmerican and I found myself reflecting deeply on this prompt given our current political climate, which has left so many people feeling alienated, ostracized, polarized, and simply put - left out.

This is what I know to be true: I am proud to be from a country where every person has a voice. I love the marches, protests and demonstrations that I've seen and taken part in, where people are able to share their views and speak out against their oppression.

I am proud to be from a country that was built by immigrants and is home to every type of person, every color of skin, every sexual orientation, religion, class and creed. I am grateful to be from a country where I do not face jail time or even death for being born a gay man (and it is deeply disturbing that we live in a world where that fear persists in several countries). I feel proud to be a part of a community as brave as the LGBTQ+ community and a country as diverse as America. Cheers America! ???? #SkyyVodka #HomeoftheBrave
