Today I say goodbye to the apartment where I grew up. Also, the apartment into which I moved back at 27 after throwing a hand grenade under my life – quitting my job, breaking up with my girlfriend, getting head shots and telling myself I was going to make a living as an actor. My mom was VERY cool about this (I also helped out with rent - that helped, I’m sure). The apartment was very good to the Bowies, and I hope it treats its next tenants just as well, after a massive refurbishing to get rid of the cigarette smell.

I know this has been weird, me posting all this stuff from my moms apartment, but I’m trying to view it as a sort of digital ofrenda, a way to shine light on all the life that could be packed into a Manhattan two bedroom. Thanks for coming along and for all the lovely comments. My mother would’ve been bashful, embarrassed but ultimately flattered.
