The Northrop Grumman (formerly Orbital ATK) Cygnus resupply ship tested its ability to boost the International Space Station’s altitude today. Cygnus’ engine fired for 50 seconds Tuesday at 4:25 p.m. EDT to reboost the station by about 295 feet in a test designed to verify an additional capability to adjust the orbital lab’s altitude. Cygnus is departing the station on Sunday after delivering several tons of supplies and science experiments back in May for the six crew members on board.
