I’ve met some very inspiring (and bad ass) people in my lifetime.

At my SKYSCRAPER Hong Kong premiere, I met Dwayne Fernandes.
Born with a severe bone defect, at 11yrs old Dwayne made the heart breaking and courageous choice to have both his legs replaced with prosthetic limbs.
He made a choice that not having his legs wasn’t going to be his “excuse” for not doing things, but rather his “reason” for doing things.
And he did just that.
He’s a multiple world record holder, having competed in 8 international stair climb marathons. He captured the world’s attention in 2008 with his first international vertical marathon, completing the 1,504 stair Sydney Tower climb in 23.49 minutes.
This win set the FIRST WORLD RECORD FOR AMPUTEES.
A real honor meeting this man and certainly an honor to portray an amputee in my film.
Playing the character gave me a very VERY small glimpse into the daily struggles, heartbreak and above all else, the COURAGE these men, women & kids go thru on a daily basis.
