Happy 4th of July! I honor the sacrifices many have made so I can enjoy the life I have in America; While I am grateful for my freedom and independence as the granddaughter of immigrants. My heart is heavy for those struggling against current policy. I can’t celebrate what I have without also being aware of those we are turning away. I keep hope in my heart today for our nation, that we can fight so others can share in our freedoms as well as many of our immigrant ancestors have. This isn’t a political post to me... this is a post about having empathy for all human beings.
