Villars World Cup is starting this Friday! ??

After winning the inauguration World Cup event in 2016, I’ve always wanted to go back; I love the wall, route setting style, and overall feel for the comp. last year, I missed it to be a groomsmen at one of my best friends weddings, this year I’m deciding to skip it to continue training.

I tweaked my arm/shoulder over a month ago and to sum it all up, it came down to a pinched nerve. The hard part was just finding out what was wrong plus I couldn’t train properly during that period. That was compounded by the fact that I was traveling and trying to compete in Tokyo and Vail. That’s mostly behind me now and thankfully I can train pretty normally!

Although I could compete this weekend, it comes back to training vs competing. If I felt mediocre this weekend, I’d be “stuck” on the circuit for 4 weeks without the familiarities of home. With the World Championships in September, I know I need to be ready for that! If everything works out well, maybe I wouldn’t miss the whole month of July competitions, fingers crossed ?
