WATCH 'NEW' 40-YEAR-OLD EARL’S COURT "HEROES" VIDEO - “We could steal time, just for one day...” - Right about now, exactly forty years ago today, David Bowie fans were assembling, along with a London Weekend Televison (LWT) crew and Janet Street-Porter (JSP), in the grounds of Earl’s Court, for the second of the three London shows of The 1978 World Tour, or ISOLAR 2 as it’s now referred to. - JSP and her team’s labours were broadcast on July 8th for an LWT Bowie special. The TV show featured three incomplete song clips filmed at Earl’s Court on June 30th, along with a very funny backstage interview with Bowie by the towering JSP (“Free school milk”), and other interviews, including audience interviews with the assembled throng of fans outside the venue. The show has never been rebroadcast. (Swipe to see a low quality grab of Bowie fan Mark Adams (aka Total Blam Blam) in white jeans and fake ocelot, being probed by Janet Street-Porter.) - To celebrate this moment and yesterday’s release of Welcome To The Blackout (the show was recorded on June 30th and July 1st), the video genius that is Nacho has created another of his unofficial improvements of already well-loved Bowie footage. - He’s compiled the first complete video of the performance in this quality and it's an absolute joy to watch again all this time later.
