I’m a mother of 3. I could not STAND it If anyone ever tried to rip a baby from my arms. Period. A Parent’s job is to keep their kids safe healthy and happy and to that end we would move mountains or climb them or cross them. Parent’s would give their left arm or their life for their kids wellbeing. How can we think any parent loves their child any less than we love ours? Indeed the families fleeing violence and oppression, fearing for their children, legally seeking asylum, in the land of the free, and the “American Dream” like so many countless before them (maybe your own ancestors?) have given up everything so their babies may have a better life... only to have their babies and children pulled away screaming and crying .. separated, scared, angry, worried sick, no news for days on end! Days become weeks , weeks become months , and they have no way of knowing if they will ever be reunited again. This is untenable,inhumane treatment, cruel and unusual punishment, and the antithesis of what America has always stood for. So I’m joining the thousands today standing up for the sanctity of the FAMILY. To demand the reunification of those torn apart and ask that our country starts behaving with the civility and compassion and values that were the hallmarks of our nation. Please stand because you know it’s the right thing to do ! Treat others the way you would want to be treated yourself. With the same respect and dignity you would expect for yourselves in your hour of need.
