? #TianTian and #BeiBei have new hammocks! Bei Bei is just as enthusiastic about this hammock as his old one. He sleeps and eats in it every day. He is now 215 pounds and still growing, so our exhibits team made it large enough to accommodate a full-grown adult. #TianTian also has a hammock now, but his is lower to the floor. It is the same height as the platform he likes to sleep on in his den. Older pandas also do not spend as much time climbing and sleeping in trees as young pandas, so he will be more likely to use it if it is lower. It will also give him the choice of sleeping on a soft surface, which may help with his arthritis. He is still getting used to the hammock, but he does occasionally spend time eating and sleeping in it. #PandaStory
