This is probably the last time Gus will jump from his favorite rock into the pool. Gus will be 9 in October but I doubt he will make it to see his birthday. I’ve noticed that his energy level has been in rapid decline so I took him to our local vet and received some bad news. There really isn’t much that we can do at this point other than to celebrate the gentle soul that has given us so much love and companionship. I truly can’t imagine what my life will be like without him following me around everywhere I go. He has shown me what unconditional love really looks like and has given me a sense of importance and worthiness that I will carry with me for the rest of my days. Our 2 year old daughter, Eva, absolutely adores Gus as he has always treated her with kindness and has recognized her as part of our family since the moment he met her. Please send good thoughts to Gus and If anyone has any advice on how to handle dealing with the loss of a cherished dog in a home with a young child, I’d would appreciate hearing about your experience. ❤️?
