"Had the most amazing sighting of the first family of Kabini, ‘Kismet’ with her 3 tiny cubs a couple of days back in the most relentless pouring monsoon weather. We were the last car to enter the park that evening since we had seen a Leopardess with her cub on a Teak tree. After spending some time with them we decided to head inside in search of other game.?

We were watching a herd of elephants when a peculiar sound caught our attention. On scanning the area we were literally shocked to see the Tigress with her cubs resting on a low log engulfed by the high Parthenium. We did not move any closer and decided to wait. In the end we were treated to some of the rarest moments possible with a Tiger family in South India. They were at complete ease with us and kept moving around and whenever one of them would get lost in the tall weeds the other siblings would start vocalizing to find him. Mum was hungry and hence she decided to lead them to the safety of the undergrowth before she ventured out for a hunt as dusk knocked on the door. Those few minutes spent with these tiny cubs were truly precious indeed.The boldest cub of the litter hugging mum with joy when he caught up with her after being lost for a few seconds in the thick undergrowth. Took me back to the day when we saw their mother Kismet as a small cub a few monsoons ago.
