When attacking Mongolians were wiped out by a typhoon the #Samurai who were ruling at the time believed that it was Divine fate. Japan was protected by water and Samurai which preserved their culture so it could develop into it’s unique and deep purity that it is today.
We know Kamikaze from WWII. There were 3,800 Kamizaze sacrifices that were virtually pilot guided missiles used to destroy warships. The Japanese military decided to use these tactics in last efforts to protect their country.
The tradition of death instead of defeat, capture, and shame is deeply entrenched in Japanese culture. Samurai life was led by loyalty and honour until death.
