Rest in Peace dear #DickLeitsch gay rights pioneer and former leader of the NY #MattachineSociety. He’d been fighting cancer but somehow simultaneously living life to the fullest. He said to me in March at #JuliusBar the site of his famous “Sip-In” during our Mattachine party in his honor: ”I’ve never been happier. I should’ve been dying sooner.” Dick is the quality of man we need today. We at Julius paid tribute by recreating the Sip-In photo that changed the laws in 1966 to help allow gay bars to exist. #pjdeboy of Shortbus plays Dick. See link in bio for bio.
