Sir Paul has a new album coming, & I’m kinda stoked. For my entire career in OneRepublic and writing i’ve done countless interviews in countless places and one of the most common questions is “who is your dream collaboration or co-write?” i’ve answered the same thing for a decade… “Paul McCartney”. This year that actually turned into a reality… Starting with a phone number that I kept sending to voicemail because I didn’t realize it was Sir Paul, leading to a week in the ancient coastal village in the UK that Paul calls home (and getting to play on all his OG Beatles instruments from the harpsichord to the mellotron) , ending with a week of sessions and mixing at my studio here in Los Angeles…. Easily the most fun I’ve ever had in any recording experience, I’m truly blessed and now truly spoiled. Thank you Paul for the opportunity to create with you, and most importantly, thank you for answering every single one of my endless Beatles and Wings questions… Explaining the origins of all my favorite songs. Your music is the largest reason I do what I do today- I will happily cancel everything and hop on a plane for the next round of sessions- Your American amigo, Ryan. ????
