Images from “el sueño Americano," a photographic essay, by Tomas Kiefer, of personal items discarded or taken away from migrants apprehended by border patrol agents. Most of these items were considered "non-essential" and confiscated at the time the migrant was detained. The real question is, why are we taking anything away from people who risk everything to start a new life?⠀
