My friend @mesopotami Ahmed Badr was welcomed with his family as a refugee to America from Iraq almost 10 years ago. He showed me how to make his favorite dish from his time in Syria during his long journey here.
Today as we see families being inhumanely separated, #worldrefugeeday celebrates that people are people all over just looking to have as good a life as possible when their lives are affected by war and famine. Circumstances that are beyond their control.
