We are heartbroken. Thousands of children (including babies) have been taken from their families at the border, and locked up without knowing when or how they will see their parents again. Workers at these facilities are instructed not to hold or console these children. Anyone with decency and compassion should know this is inhumane. This doesn’t need to be happening to protect our border. Separating families isn’t written into the law. It is a cruel and unnecessary policy set up by the Trump administration.
It’s so hard to not feel disgusted and outraged in this moment. And it’s so easy to feel helpless, like there’s nothing you can do. But there is.
