Perhaps not the ideal time for a magazine tied to luxury and fashion and “la dolce vita”, but it was an instant hit. Over the last fifty years it has acted as a cultural barometer of our times with a commitment to visual genius, an investment in great writing and a discriminating, optimistic editorial eye.
