Before #BloodySunday in #Selma 1965. #MLK told the clergymen/preachers/pastors/community leaders that it’s just not enough for black people alone to fight for civil rights. To be effective people of all backgrounds have to stand with you and unite. There is no law being broken asking for asylum in this country (for starters) this is kidnapping & immoral. But it’s preaching to the choir coming from me (for the most part my network here is quasi like minded—-at least I like to think so) I’m asking for those that “don’t wanna get too political” or for those that “don’t watch the news that much” or “you just can’t”—-I’m asking you to make the effort to educate yourselves. Open your eyes and see what’s going on. Many of you in Nov 2015 didn’t think it was gonna be “all this bad” & “but the economy is great tho” I’m more from the standpoint that if life ain’t good for your brother/fellowman it’s not all that good for any of us. Be on the right side of history. This is not right. This is wrong. Set aside the easy retort to “well I wouldn’t put my kids in this situation so I can’t relate to “what if this were my kid” coldness. This is wrong.
