Let me start this extremely long post by saying how much I appreciate all the love and support I've received from you guys throughout my postpartum journey. I just want to take a moment to encourage new mamas out there who are in the "fog phase." After returning from maternity leave (I took 8 weeks off) the reality of being a new mom, managing two businesses (my personal blog business + Bless Box) and being sleep deprived set in quick! I also had thousands of eyeballs watching me across a public platform waiting for my next post. Oh boy did I feel the pressure ? I gained 55 pounds with teeny and shed the first 30 doing nothing and then I had 25 pounds left that were going to be all me. Juggling a new life routine was a workout in itself let alone committing to an actual workout. I thought, "How in the world do people really do this. I feel like I'm being PUNK'D lol." It didn't take me long before realizing that if I quit on myself then I would slowly start to quit on everything else in my life. I also knew reaching my goals wouldn't happen unless I was kind to my body during the process. Working out for 30 minutes everyday was my saving grace. I'll never forget the late night floor workouts in our guest bedroom, the countless times I wanted to quit and wondering if I was ever going to look/feel like myself again. BUT I DID IT! Forget about my old self I LOVE MY NEW SELF! My hormones are balanced and I have just a couple pounds left. Here's the thing - If I have to spend the rest of my life in this body (and hopefully have more kiddos!) then I should take care of it on the inside and out, right? I am working on a blog post recapping my diet and fitness plan so stay tuned! I will say that now when I'm doing those killer burpees (about to die) I get a boost of energy when I think, "YO GIRL. This body birthed a child u can finish these burpees!" It helps lol! Do whatever it takes to power through your fears and reach your goals because you CAN do it. Doing it the right way is a marathon not a sprint so take your time babes! Just keep going and DO NOT QUIT. #YouVSYou #heresyoursign #6monthspostpartum
