Being told I can’t donate blood is pretty degrading.

A stigma of another era, the food and drug administration claims that the blood of men who have had sex with men in the last 12 months is “too risky” to donate. Instead of making the call based on real risk-factors, the regulation discriminates based on sexual orientation.

In celebration of #worldblooddonorday @mothernewyork took the blood of their gay employees and with the help of artist @stuartsemple created the worlds first blood based textile ink.

I stand strong and with the support of my mom and dad
Sexuality is not a risk factor
Stigma is the only real risk.
