It is time to empower our youth…equally. It is time to show young
girls AND boys of today that their futures are open to endless
possibilities and that they can achieve and be whatever they dream of
without any limitations due to their gender. We HAVE to share the
stories of not just our male history makers, but our female history
makers too.

As of now, only 14% of women figures are in our History books. 14%! For instance #DidYouKnow Ida B Wells-Barnett was a prominent
journalist, activist, and researcher who battled sexism, racism, and
violence in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

I think of how differently things would have felt and how much more
confident I would have been as a young women if I had been able to
learn about ALL the women who have broken down barriers and paved the
way in society, business, entertainment, STEM, and politics!
That feeling of confidence and being an equal is EXACTLY what I want
for all the young girls in the world today! Together we can make this
happen!
