While I’m almost certain that when my amazing acting coach @meghan_mcgarry_ made me write this note to myself she did not mean for me to take selfies with it, I couldn’t help but share this beautiful message with people. Replace my name with your own if you’ve spent more hours than you can count trying to be a proverbial piano when you’re really an electric guitar, privileging what you don’t have over what you do. I have spent a lot of time comparing myself to others and despairing as a result. But I’d like to be done trashing my experiences. For what I do, every single one of them is a color that I can paint with. So if you’d rather study acting and play music than go to the gym (contrary to what Hollywood would have you believe—interval training does not count as acting class ;) or even vise versa! Then I invite you to join me in this magnificent concert and play YOUR instrument!
