A few of our directors recently spent six days chasing storms across seven states, mainly Montana, North Dakota, and Nebraska. Navigating desolate dirt roads with no cell service or another soul in sight, they logged over 2750 miles to get that perfect shot into the eye of the storm. After this photo was taken, wind speeds picked up to 70 mph, and the thunder and lightning became relentless, peppering the sky from every angle — not the ideal scenario in which to be holding a metal tripod in the middle of a field. Though the experience was a bit unnerving at times, the team was grateful to witness the intensity of these storms firsthand, as it was humbling to observe the contrast of power and destruction so effortlessly followed by a sense of calm and serenity as the storm passed — a brief spring storm serving as a simple reminder of just how incredible nature really is.
