Today The Duchess of Cornwall, in the presence of The Queen, attended a Medical Detection Dogs Demonstration at Buckingham Palace. HRH is Patron of the charity, which is celebrating its 10th Anniversary this year.
Medical Detection Dogs trains dogs to smell disease in humans, as well as acting as alert dogs for those with medical issues such as type 1 diabetes. HM & HRH were given a demonstration of the dog's incredible ability. Cocker spaniel Kizzy showed her ability to smell cancer and black Labrador Peanut was able to detect Parkinson's disease from sweat samples.
