We’re starting a new series on our platform called “Sound and Vision” which features iconic album covers, the visual artists who made them, the bands that recorded them, and some fun facts from along the way.

For our first edition, we chose Green Day’s 1994 major label debut “Dookie,” designed by fellow East Bay punk mainstay Richie Bucher @richiebuchzart , whose depiction of Berkeley’s Telegraph Avenue features AC/DC’s Angus Young, animals throwing literal shit, cops, punks, and yuppies, all under falling bombs. The cover captured the DIY, crass, and humorous essence of Green Day, who would go on to superstardom after this release.
