Why are you working out? Are you focusing on yourself or are you training to impress others? Both is fine - but I think only 1) will lead you to happiness on the long run. If you’re training only to prove others wrong, to hear their compliments, to impress your boyfriend, to look good for that 1 vacation in summer or to not be considered lazy & fat - you will have a haaaard time sticking to your routine. If you want to make fitness a long term part of your life (which is not a must): try to focussing on your own feelings. Before, during & after a workout. Does it make you feel energetic & positive? Do you feel happy when you get stronger and see improvements? Are you proud of yourself if you smashed your workout? Do you start to appreciate your body more for all the amazing things it does for you? Do you feel more self confident? Does the connection between your mind and your body become bigger and stronger? Do you suddenly listen to how your body feels? That’s what keeps you going for months and years, not only for a couple of weeks. - I’ve had my ups and downs FOR SURE. Last year I rather focused on other things than training. And looking back - I know that I was missing something in my life. Working out does not only make me happier, it also makes me more self confident, more balanced & more disciplined in all the other tasks that I have in life. It helps me appreciate my body SO MUCH. I am so proud of what my body is able to do and I wouldn’t want to switch it with somebody else’s body. I love myself for what I am and I’m thankful to still have the motivation of trying to become in some way stronger or better every week. I listen to my body, I watch how I react to food, I notice what does me good and what doesn’t. I feel more balanced when I’m being active regularly & it calms down stress during tough times. I still need to get better at giving myself „rest“ tho. I know that I should sometimes lean back and pause when I feel tired. But being aware of something is already the start of the journey ♥️♥️♥️♥️ #loveya #sundayfeels - - ? by @kevinostaj ??????????
