Hello! @thepenandthepangolin here again sharing with you the diverse ways I use @sakuraofameria products! As a science illustrator I love using a combination of #pigmamicron pens and #sumogrip pencils to capture microscopic details like the scales of this California Pipevine Swallowtail. Replicating the vibrant oranges and iridescent blues of the scales are easy with the assortment of colors in the #koiwatercolor set! Fellow biologist @timtast1c provided the specimens and has been essential in reintroducing sustainable populations of California Pipevine Swallowtail butterflies back into the city of San Francisco, a native species of California and once much more common than it is now. Tim’s successful conservation efforts have influenced me to start field sketching this species as well as taking notes so I can create a final, accurate scientific illustration later on! Conservation success stories are the best.
