"The Chamorro culture is matrilineal, and I come from a line of great women. My late grandmother, Florence, lived through WWII and survived the Japanese occupation on Guam. She taught me what it meant to be forgiving and compassionate. My mom, Kristine, had me at a young age, but she didn’t let being a young mom stop her from going out and working for what she wanted. She’s a successful entrepreneur who manages and produces events on Guam and is one of the most humble, hardworking, selfless people I know.
