A turtle beamed down from the heavens - it must be #WorldTurtleDay! ? Today is a very special day; it's all about shellabrating, raising awareness and advocating for the protection of #turtles, #tortoises and their environments. Of the seven species of marine turtles in the world, six occur in Australian waters, not to mention 23 species of freshwater turtles. @kylerauphotography spotted this beautiful turtle on @ladyelliotislandecoresort in @queensland, which is an excellent place to spot turtles; it's home to a healthy population of green, hawksbill and loggerhead turtles.
