Had he not died back in 2003, today would’ve been my Dad’s 82nd Birthday. I’m doing 2 shows with @jaymewes at @zaniesnashville tonight, so last night I visited the @ernesttubbrecordshop downtown in memory of my old man. You see, back in 1975, we took a family vacation to #nashville. My Father loved country music, so after visiting @theryman (where I did a show last year in honor of Pop), Dad took us to the #ernesttubbrecordshop - a retail store that belonged to a legendary performer and host of the #grandoleopry radio show. It impressed my Dad to no end that while Tubb was a recording star, he wasn’t above a l’il retail. Dad said “He’s smart because he opened a store where all his fans can go after they see his shows.” Decades later, because of that observation, I would open @jayandsilentbobstash - a place where my fans could go after they saw my shows.
