Everyone’s has a place they started. My professional career started at @themuny.

So, yeah, this is a hilarious picture of me dressed as a crow for Wizard of Oz but you know what I see? I see a kid who was figuring out this is what he wanted to do for the rest of his life. I see a kid who was realizing all those summer nights going to see shows at @the Muny had shaped him in ways he didn’t know how to express.

This theater and the people (past & present) who run it mean so much to me. I’ve sat in the front row to the free seats (there’s a 1000 of them by the way) from the time I was a kid because I was lucky enough to be from St Louis and have parents that loved the theatre. I’ve met lifelong friends and seen & gotten to work alongside legends of the theatre. After @pattimurin and I were married we started rehearsal for a show 3 days later. It’s because people want to be there. They know it’s a special place to spend a piece of their summer. They know that there’s no place that quite compares and that once you’ve had that unique experience you want to repeat it.

Happy 100th Birthday @themuny. Thank you for my start. Thank you for all the special memories and friendships and I hope to make many more in years to come.
