“If you know what life is worth/ you will look for yours on earth...” I can’t imagine what it’s like to only ever view masterpieces like this digitally on a tiny screen. For me, as a graffiti obsessed 10 year old boy, watching this married couple pull in to the station brand new changed my world. Photos can’t recapture the feeling. This to me was revolutionary, the greatest achievement of civilization, the pinnacle of all writing, communication arts, and technology. That it was entirely conceived, executed, funded, produced, and controlled by teenagers from the inner city without any support from the establishment made it all that much more powerful. If you truly believe that walking around bumping into each other staring at a tweet on a telephone is some sort of forward progress for humankind, you and I may have different definitions of what it means to live.
