It’s the hardest thing to meet 3 fellow musicians for the first time in a ~40 minute rehearsal at a competition and then perform Beethoven - but I feel very lucky to have been able to make music with these wonderful peers! ? ————————————————————————
Beethoven’s string quartet No. 4 is one of the most famous string quartets, and for good reason: it is written in c minor, which is known to be Beethoven’s “death/fate key”, or in German, we call it his “Schicksalstonart”. It therefore is very dramatic and dark - but if you listen to the whole movement, you’ll hear some hope, freeing and angels too... ?
