My mother helped shape me to become the woman and athlete that I am today, and I'm excited to share my story with @NYDJ. She supported me, encouraged me, and guided me in all aspects of my life. With all the time she invested into driving me to surf contests, to training, and being there for me for all the years she was here, both on the good days, and the bad, she always helped me get back up and go back out there, even when feeling defeated. I am now able live the life that I live. Even after all the years she's been gone, I still try to make her proud. She is forever with me in spirit, never forgotten.
