So @jeffkatzphotography revealed that this photo was considered as an alt cover for #Lovesexy released 30 yrs ago today. I’m trying to figure out if any figure put flawless numbers over 10 years on the board as far as #GeniusStreaks are concerned (most say Stevie 71-76, I’m willing to bump that to 81 even though Musiquarium shouldn’t count; hard to put MJ in this standard cause although considered “classic MJ” there were moments on Bad & Dangerous I was “cool” on; Beatles gave us 8; someone tell me the magic Stones streak) ANYWHO: #TheBlackAlbum was promoted to the hilt on #RadioScope & then...well...this came. Don’t get me wrong #AlphabetSt was a banger. But this left me *slightly* underwhelmed. In hindsight I realized this album runs the end of an era (yeah yeah I know all you heads are ready to attack me but, I know what I’m fond of —I’m a 78-88er w about 40 songs in between 89-15 that I’ll take too (The Truth is a perfect lp imo) but yeah i guess I’m commemorating the 1st time a Prince lp didn’t knock me out. Imma press *send* now and prolly regret it (Dance On/Anna Stesia/Alpha/Eye No/the end of Positivity are the favs for me btw)
