"Fan-throated lizards are found mostly on the ground in thin forests. This lizard is very famous for stretching his throat out, thus impressing his partner and displaying dominance of his territory over other males. Timing is a very important challenge when photographing these lizards -- as the lizard’s full fan is only completely displayed for one second. Every 5-10 minutes, the lizard will again fan his throat out for around 30 seconds.
